SUBTERRAIN RIVERS

Jewellery collection Subterrain Rivers transforms fictional water maps into chain neckpieces. Starting point for this project were my paintings influenced by organic shapes of Art Nouveau, detailed surfaces of Mughal paintings and aesthetic of deep sea environment.

I have researched expressive possibilities of connecting glass and metals together. I have tested wide range of precious metals like silver and gold and base metals such as aluminium or copper. Each metal reacted with glass differently – some metals created interesting colour change at the point where they meet with glass, some stayed inert.
