Halifax 2011

Porcelain neclaces were made as part of the 'Ceramic for jewellers' class with Rebecca Hannon (NSCAD, 2011)

Brooches were made as a submission for the jewellery competition called 'Superstition'. I decided to explore the practice of future telling both at my home and in Canada. I am from the Czech Republic and we have a tradition of pouring hot wax ito the water on Christmas day and then trying to tell the future from the shape. In Canada the main method of future telling is reading from the tea leaves. I joined both ways - organic shapes of cast wax and tea leaves in embroidery of the textile parts.
